At Otter Fencing, we have a variety of Timber Bollards for landscape projects, road and pedestrian management and fencing.

We manufacture to order only because the range, shape and size of timber bollards is limitless. We do however have a small selection of timber bollards in stock.

Below we have samples of some more commonly used bollards, along with different bollard tops, collars and chamfer edges. You can mix and match the shape and size of the bollard to suit your needs for any application.

Post, Rail and Timber Bollards

Commonly used bollards are, 1.2 to 1.5 meters long and 125, 150 & 200mm square, in both sawn or dressed finishes. When dressed, the sizes are 115mm and 140mm

We can supply bollards up to 300mm square and 6 meters long. The timbers we supply are Cypress Pine, Spotted Gum & Iron Bark. But the most used timber for bollards is Cypress Pine, due too its Class 2 below ground rating, low shrinkage rate of 2.9% and its natural resistance to white ants

Bollard tops can be made in many different shapes and sizes. The size of a chamfered top is most commonly 20mm and a pyramid top is set at 35 degrees (but this is only a guide). We can manufacture your bollard tops to any shape and size, to meet your specifications.

Collar sizes vary from job to job, the same as the bollard tops. We have manufactured them from 4mm to 110mm wide and up to 25mm deep, but the most common size is 18mm wide by 10mm deep and the most common shape is square. Because each job is unique, we have the experience to help you create any shape you require.

We can drill your Chain, pipe or cable holes up to 85mm. Through bollards up to 300mm square or round. We recommend the hole size for pipe, be 5mm bigger than the outside diameter of the pipe required and 3mm bigger for chain and cable.

Impact protection holes are widely used in bollards along road sides parks and reserves to lessen the impact of a vehicle collision. They are usually accompanied by delineators recessed 10mm into the bollards to prevent vandalism. Red delineators on the approach side and white the opposite side. Where scalloped edges are more for decorative purposes. Chamfering the edges of a bollard, also makes a bollard more user friendly by alleviating sharp corners and splinters.

Bollard Sleeves

Bollard sleeves come in below ground and collapsible bollards in above ground only.

In-ground sleeves are concreted 400mm into the ground. The removable sleeve has a concrete strip around the top to allow for a neat and flush finish. Collapsible bolt down sleeves bolt flush to the surface.

Bollards are locked in place by use of the locking tag. The tag is screwed into the bollard once the sleeve has been installed and the correct height has been determined. Once the tag is in place, the lid will close over the tag allowing a padlock to be fitted. Collapsible sleeves have tags already fitted and when upright, the tags will line up and allow you to fit a padlock .

We stock the in-ground bollard sleeves to suit removable bollards in 125mm & 150mm square and the collapsible bollards in 190 x 90 & 140 x 90mm Bolt Down Only.
