Welded Mesh Fencing is an economical and durable fencing type that suits a wide variety of applications.
The fence panels are typically constructed with rolled top and bottom profiles, which adds strength and durability to the fence panels, without adding additional weight. The design means the panels remain light weight and cost effective, which make weld mesh panels ideal for multiple applications.
Most commonly welded mesh panels are used for boundary fencing and secured compounds due to the added strength of the welded mesh design and heavier wire diameters, making it difficult to cut or damage.

Refer below for Otter Fencing’s range of welded mesh fence panel types that are available.
All Otter Fencing welded mesh types comply with AS2423-2002 and a full range of gates, posts and accessories are available to suit.

358 Welded Mesh
What is 358 welded mesh?
358 welded mesh is a high security anti-climb mesh fencing system, otherwise known as 358 or prison mesh. 358 provides maximum security for perimeter security fence protection. The mesh aperture of 71mm x 9mm manufactured from 4mm diameter wire makes it extremely difficult to penetrate using conventional hand tools, therefore providing a high delay factor. Whilst maintaining a high level of security, 358 security fencing has a low visual impact on the surrounding environment. The finger / toe-proof mesh aperture makes for a totally secure, superior anti-climb fencing system that’s difficult to cut or climb whilst maintaining a clear level of sight through the horizontal aperture from any angle.
358 security welded mesh is superior quality zinc / aluminium coated Ø4mm high-tensile steel mesh with an aperture size of 71mm x 9mm.
- 358 refers to the imperial measurements: 3-inch (75mm) centres, the horizontal wires at 0.5-inch (12.5mm) centres and the wire is 8 gauge (4mm dia).
Weld shear strength exceeds AS2423-2002 requirements
- Resistance welding to AS2423-2002 requirements
- Zinc aluminium coating to AS/NZS4534—a minimum thickness of 260g/m2 with an average of 300g/m2
- Average tensile strength—560 MPA
Why is 358 mesh perfect for security and safety?
- Anti-climb fencing is extremely difficult to climb
- Highly resistant to normal cutting tools
- Minimizes visual impact on the surrounds
- Provides a critical clear line of sight for security and camera surveillance
358 Welded Mesh

358 high security welded mesh fencing is available in a galvanized finish and can also be in a range of powder coated colours which allows the fence to blend to your environment. The horizontal apertures provide a highly transparent finish to the fence line with minimal visual impact allowing clear camera surveillance to identify intruders.
The welded mesh infill panel is generically called 358 mesh as the vertical wires are at 3-inch (75mm) centres, the horizontal wires at 0.5-inch (12.5mm) centres and the wire is 8 gauge (4mm dia).
