Keeping balls in play and protecting surrounding facilities was the goal of this custom ball stop fencing installation completed for Dandenong Soccer Club.
Otter Fencing installed approximately 65 linear metres of custom-engineered ball stop fencing to help prevent soccer balls from leaving the field and impacting nearby clubrooms, parked vehicles and pedestrian areas.
The project featured a 6-metre-high fencing system supported by heavy-duty twin-post assemblies. Each 8-metre post section was manufactured from 100NB and 50NB steel posts, reinforced with 150mm x 200mm x 8mm gusset plates for added strength and long-term durability. All steelwork was powder coated to provide a durable finish and excellent protection against the elements.
Fusion bonded chain-link fabric was installed across two 3-metre-high sections to create the 6-metre-high ball stop fence behind the goal area. The fence then stepped down to 3 metres before transitioning to a 900mm-high section, allowing the installation to integrate neatly with the surrounding site.
Purpose-built ball stop fencing is an essential addition to sporting facilities, helping keep games moving while protecting players, spectators, nearby buildings and vehicles. By reducing ball retrieval outside the playing area, clubs can improve both safety and the overall playing experience.
From local sporting clubs to large council recreation facilities, Otter Fencing designs and installs custom ball stop fencing solutions built to withstand the demands of Australian sporting environments.
