Bayswater North Primary School Boundary Fencing and Ball Guard Install

Otter Fencing recently completed the supply and installation of new boundary fencing and gates at Bayswater North Primary School, working alongside Johns Lyng Builders. The scope of works included 575 linear metres of 2100mm high heavy-duty pressed spear top tubular panel fencing, powder coated black by Supacote and thoughtfully integrated into the school environment, surrounded by eucalyptus gum trees while providing an appropriate level of security for the site.

The fencing was specified using 40x40 rails with 25x25 pickets, delivering a strong, durable and visually appropriate solution for a busy primary school setting where student safety and security are key priorities. Installed as part of a boundary upgrade to replace older infrastructure, the new perimeter provides a clear, secure and well-defined boundary while maintaining a clean and respectful appearance that suits the natural landscape of the campus.

During the initial stages of the works, the school remained fully operational, with students safely separated from active construction areas through the use of temporary fencing and controlled exclusion zones. This staged approach allowed the project to progress with minimal disruption to day-to-day school activities while maintaining a safe working environment on site.

In addition to the boundary fencing, Otter Fencing also installed a 4000mm high ball screen fence along two sides of the rear football oval, totalling approximately 110 linear metres. The system incorporates black PVC chain-link fabric with a 25mm pitch to the lower 2000mm to reduce climbability in line with Victorian school design considerations, transitioning to a 50mm pitch chain-link fabric on the upper 2000mm to maintain visibility while effectively containing balls within the oval area. This specification aligns with guidance from the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) for safer school environments.

The finished result delivers a secure, durable and cohesive fencing solution that enhances both safety and presentation across the school grounds, with the school Principal, Meredith (Sam) Graunke, expressing they were very pleased with the overall outcome of the project. If your school or facility is considering a boundary fencing upgrade, the team at Otter Fencing can assist with compliant, durable and site-appropriate solutions.
