Otter Fencing has completed an upgrade of the cricket nets at Highett Reserve for the City of Kingston, giving local players a safer and more durable place to train.
The nets were built from over 290 metres of 3.15mm black fusion-bonded chain-link fabric at heights of up to 3.7m, supported by a heavy-duty frame of 80NB, 65NB and 50NB posts, all powder coated black.
At the batting end, a fully roofed section was fabricated from 40NB pipe roof rails, welded tee and cross fittings and chain-link fabric overhead, keeping balls contained where they are hit hardest.
The lower walls were lined with 1200mm high, 6mm thick black rubber Holeybelt matting to absorb impact and protect both the balls and the fabric. Black PVC Helicoil and lacing wire complete a clean, all-black finish.
Manufactured in our Dandenong South workshop and built to Australian Standards using quality Australian-made materials, the upgraded nets will serve the reserve for years to come.
