Heavy-Duty Chain-Link Security Fencing for the Pig and Whistle Gold Mine Pit

Heavy-Duty Chain-Link Security Fencing for the Pig and Whistle Gold Mine Pit

Protecting remote infrastructure located in Paddy’s Ranges State Forest outside of Maryborough Victoria, requires security fencing that is fit for purpose and built to last. For this project at the Pig and Whistle Gold Mine Pit, Otter Fencing supplied and installed approximately 950 linear metres of heavy-duty, heavy-galvanised chain-link fabric security fencing, complete with 3-rows of barbed wire atop of the fence, creating a durable and secure perimeter to the Pig & Whistle Pit.

The 1800mm-high Rail-less fencing system was constructed using 3.15mm dia. heavy-duty heavy-galvanised chain-link fabric, supported by commercial-grade galvanised steel posts, bracing rails and tensioned with 3 no. rows of heavy-galvanised Helicoil cable wires. To further enhance site security, the installation was finished with three 3-rows of high-tensile, heavy-galvanised barbed wire secured to the vertical pipe post extensions atop of the fence.

The project also included the installation of an 8000mm wide opening pair of chain-link double gates, to match the fencing and provide secure access for vehicles and equipment.

Installed through challenging bushland conditions, including wet and muddy terrain, this project demonstrates Otter Fencing's ability to deliver large-scale security fencing in demanding environments and remote areas. Built to Australian Standards, using quality Australian made materials, the installed fencing & gates provides a robust and long lasting reliable security boundary for our customer Wolf Gold for years to come.
